Yesterday, Roja Dove launched his latest Roja Parfums creation – Fetish Parfum – at the Beaufort Bar in the Savoy Hotel, London.
The launch was a huge success, and was attended by the most senior beauty editors and journalists in Britain.
Fetish Parfum is a Chypré – warm, dry, spicy, leathery, & very sensual. The smoky, sensual, leathery-note of Castoreum permeates the blend of Oakmoss, Patchouli, and Vetiver, which is underscored by Musk, warmed by Cinnamon, Clove, Cedarwood, and Cedar Needles – the whole freshened by touches of Bergamot, Petitgrain, and Galbanum with a heady blend of Jasmine, Tuberose, Ylang Ylang, and Rose at its heart.
“My newest perfume, Fetish Parfum, is for a woman who is self confident and uncompromising in her approach to life and all she wants in it”. ROJA DOVE
Roja’s jacket for the launch was especially made for him by Stephen Williams of Bespoke HQ. Stephen’s tailoring is genius, and this jacket is one of the finest pieces of clothing that Roja has ever worn – its cut, cloth and colour are perfect for Roja.
This Thursday 13th December, Roja will be launching his latest Roja Parfums creation to the press – Fetish Parfum – and revealing what it is that makes you “Succumb To Your Desires” every time you smell it.
In anticipation, Roja commented,
“Nothing is darker than leather in all its guises. I urge you to beware, as once you have entered there is no escape. I have created a perfume that, once under its spell, there is no return. See for yourselves if you can escape its magic”.
Fetish Parfum will be made available for sale from February 2013 in the Harrods Black Hall (London), the Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie in Harrods and at the Lausanne Palace, the Roja Parfums Boutiques in Moscow, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and from the Roja Parfums website (www.rojaparfums.com)
For Vogue’s Online Fashion Week, Roja was interviewed by Harrods to discuss the secrets of applying scent properly, and how the right fragrance can unlock emotions that recall the most powerful loves, creating memories in the process, and even sometimes scandals.
Roja was delighted to begin the launch week of Roja Parfums in the UAE, exclusively for Paris Gallery, with a personal training session for all the Paris Gallery team, and Roja Parfums representatives.
Roja discussed the construction, facets and families of fragrance before recounting the inspiration of the brand, and each Roja Parfums scent, revealing anecdotes about the industry that only he knows.
Roja is immensely proud of the team and truly feels that each member now embodies the ethos of Roja Parfums – “it has to be the best”.
This week, Roja Dove officially launched the world’s first ever Roja Parfums Boutique in Paris Gallery at The Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi.
VIP guests of Paris Gallery enjoyed a ‘by invitation only’ evening with Roja. The event was a resounding success with guests staying late into the evening.
This marked a global first – Roja Parfums is now available in the UAE for the first time and exclusively for Paris Gallery.
Of the launch, Roja said,
“I could not be more thrilled and excited, and hope the brand will continue to be as influential in Abu Dhabi, as it has already been around the world. I want to create perfumes that surprise and astonish you, perfumes that encapsulate this exciting time in my life. I hope my new Abu Dhabi Boutique will do the same”.

Britannia, a limited edition of only 60 perfumes, one for each of her wondrous years, based on the legendary anointing oils used to confirm the British monarch’s assent to the throne. Britannia, Roja’s personal interpretation for a majestic perfume, a serenely tailored creation filled with perfectly balanced noble ingredients: the Rose, symbol of England; Jasmine, the Queen of flowers; and anointing oils of Her Majesty.
This fragrance is available exclusively at Harrods but is selling out fast. Visit the Black Hall or Roja Dove Haute Parfumerie to get your hands on a piece of history today.
Roja created his crown with the aid of inspiration from the age old tradition of the anointing ceremony. Below, Roja talks you through this regal process:
“My crown symbolises the most sacred part of the coronation ceremony – the moment the Her Majesty The Queen was anointed with Holy Anointing Oil. Her Majesty felt this part of her ceremony to be the most sacred, it was the only part of her service she would not allow to be televised, as it makes a direct reference to the announcing of Solomon by Zadok the Priest as written in the bible.
The Holy Anointing Oil is made from a blend of Roses, Jasmine, Orange, Cinnamon, Benzoin, Ambergris, Musk, and Civet. It is applied with four Knights of the Garter forming a cross and holding a silk pall over the sovereign. The scented oil is then applied in the shape of the cross.
The red and white roses at the base of my crown symbolise the White Rose of York and the Red Rose of Lancaster and makes reference to the Tudor Rose and the last queen to bear Elizabeth’s name, Queen Elizabeth I. Above it, and behind the Fleur de Lys, Jonquils to symbolise the continuation of the Queens line through His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.
On the four branches of the cross there are Frankincense and Myrrh, as well as Tonquin Musk. One of the symbols of the Order of the Garter lead to a small bouquet of red, white, and blue flowers which fall from a garland of Camellias, which have always conveyed admiration, perfection, gratitude, and nobility of reasoning, whose leaves are covered in drops of oil to symbolise the precious materials used to create The Holy Anointing Oil.
The top of the crown is adorned with Syringa, whose purity wraps around a small volume of Orris, (the root of the Iris), and Vanilla Bourbon – these two materials are priceless – as is Her Majesty The Queen.”
Last week, Roja hosted a launch party at Madame Jojo’s in Soho to celebrate the launch of his latest fragrance, Risque. The party was a huge success, attended by the top beauty journalists in the UK who were thrilled by a special performance by burlesque superstar, Miss Polly Rae.
See below or click HERE for a selection of pictures from the event and Risque will be available to buy from the Roja Parfums Shop from June.
It is with great excitment that Roja travelled to Russia last week as it marked the official opening of Roja Parfums at TsUM, the most prestigious and reknowned department store in Moscow.
Roja prepared a fragrance training course especially for TsUM, with specific training on all of the Roja Parfums products for the retail team. Roja also held two very popular customer events at TsUM, and met with 30 of Russia’s most influential beauty and grooming press.
“When we were asked if we would like to open within Tsum, Moscow, I knew without question that it would be the perfect partner for us. When I was very young I started to learn Russian; I continued with it for three years. Russia captured my imagination, and I am excited to see it for the first time when I come to visit as my perfumes find a new home.” Roja Dove
